The challenge: starting from nothing
Preye’s Baskets arrived at Outhbox with a clear vision and nothing else. No website, no payment system, no way to receive orders, no customer communication process. The client wanted to sell curated gift baskets across multiple categories to a UK customer base — but had no technical foundation to do it.
The operational reality of a gifting business added complexity beyond a standard shop. Products span several categories: Mother’s Day, romantic gifts, celebrations, care and wellness, appreciation, and corporate packages. Custom orders placed directly by phone or WhatsApp had to be handled alongside standard checkout orders, all feeding into the same fulfilment workflow.
What Outhbox built
Outhbox built the entire platform from scratch: the e-commerce site, Stripe payment processing with proper checkout security, automated post-purchase email sequences, and a parallel handling workflow for custom orders arriving outside the standard checkout.
Services delivered across this engagement:
- Full e-commerce website covering all product categories
- Stripe payment processing with secure checkout configuration
- Automated order confirmation and delivery update emails
- Re-engagement campaign sequences for repeat purchase
- Custom order workflow — phone and WhatsApp orders enter the same system
- Ongoing platform optimisation as order volume grows
The automation layer
The most operationally significant part of the build was the automation layer. For any gifting business, post-purchase communication is where trust is built or broken. Done manually, that process breaks under volume. Outhbox built sequences that handle all of this without manual intervention: order confirmations trigger instantly, delivery updates dispatch at the right points, and re-engagement campaigns run on schedule.
Custom orders — those arriving via call or direct message — presented a separate challenge. Rather than creating a two-tier system, Outhbox built a workflow that feeds custom orders into the same fulfilment and communication pipeline. One process, regardless of how the order arrived.

Preye’s Baskets is an active, trading UK e-commerce business. It was built from nothing and now processes hundreds of real customer orders. Outhbox remains the technical partner — optimising the platform, handling edge cases, and supporting the business as product range and order volume continue to grow.
“The platform was built to handle the messy reality of how a gifting business actually operates — not just the clean checkout flow.”
Most digital agencies build websites. Outhbox builds operating infrastructure. The distinction matters in a business like this one, where the website is not a brochure — it is the business. Every technical decision made on this project was made in the context of what the business actually needs to run.
